I finished my Open University(OU) studies for this (my penultimate) year on the 7th of June. This year’s modules were:
- TM352 – Software Engineering
- TM354 – Web, Mobile, and Cloud Technologies
Both modules have an Overall Continuos Assessment Score (OCAS) and an Overall Examination Score (OES). My OCAS for both modules is over 80% which means in order to get a Grade 2 Pass for both modules my OESs will need to be at least 70%. I have had a long wait as my results are not due to be posted until the 19th of July. This long wait has been at times unbearable and seems to be worse than in previous years. I have found that I have been edgier and keep thinking I have failed badly. This is probably because of the way the Open University works out the class of honors meaning that the final two years (level 3) are where it matters. I am still on course to complete the degree with the upper 2nd class (2.1). I will be updating this post once I have received my grades.
Update…
So I received my results on the 19th and I passed both modules. The results were:
- TM352 – Software Engineering Grade 2
- TM354 – Web, Mobile, and Cloud Technologies Grade 3
The Grade 3 is the lowest mark I’ve gotten so far but should not hinder me too much from reaching my goal of a 2:1 at the end.
