The Crucifixion: The Ultimate Sacrifice

This entry is part 8 of 9 in the series Journey to the Cross: A Lenten Devotional Series
“Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.”
Luke 23:46

Reflection:

Good Friday is a solemn day that calls us to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. His death was not just a historical event; it was the fulfilment of God’s redemptive plan for humanity. Through His suffering, Jesus bore the weight of our sins, making a way for us to be reconciled with God.

On this day, we remember the depth of God’s love and the cost of our salvation. The cross, which once seemed like a symbol of shame, has become a symbol of hope for all who believe.

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for the sacrifice You made on the cross. Help us to never take Your love for granted and to live in gratitude for Your ultimate gift. Amen.
