“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”
Reflection:
Jesus’ words as the Good Shepherd provide a picture of His sacrificial love. Unlike the hired hands who abandon the sheep in danger, Jesus stays close to His flock, guiding, protecting, and ultimately laying down His life for them. His care for us is personal, intimate, and sacrificial.
As we journey to the cross, we are reminded of the depth of Christ’s love for us. We are His sheep, and He cares for us in ways we may not always fully understand. This Lenten season, let us reflect on the ways Jesus has shepherded us, even in times of difficulty and suffering.
Prayer:
Good Shepherd, thank You for Your unwavering love and care. Help us to trust You more deeply as we follow You through this Lenten journey. Amen.
